New Start

Hi Everyone!

Firstly I would like to say a very Happy New Years to everyone!! (Sorry I know I'm a little late, but you know what they say: "It's better to be late then never!"). One of my resolutions for 2011 is keep up with my blogging. I feel the need to start fresh and have deleted all my previous posts. So out with the old and in with the new. First things first, I thought that my blog needed a bit of a makeover. I'm loving the new muted colours and a more simply but stylish feel. This years blog will contain alot of fun and interesting things. I'll have photos and stories of what is going on with Bella Cupcakes, I will add recipes and tips for cupcake decorating, baking in general and a whole lot more. I would also love to blog about my other passions in life: My family and photography and all things gorgeous.

I am so excited and can't wait to share with you all

.

  4. Me too. I got a new DSLR last year and its changed the whole way I take my pictures, so much so I'm going back to school to study photography. Am so excited about that. I might have to ease up on the baking to fit it in though!

  5. Wow Vanessa, I never realised you were a self-taught cupcake/cake decorator! Your designs are incredible and you are one super-talented lady! Hopefully I can be as talented as you one day :)

  6. Oh aren't they great!! What kind of camera did you get? My hubby surprised me with a gorgeous Canon 7d last year!! I use to just use a point and shoot and thought I wasn't doing too bad!! But once I started using my SLR ... well I haven't looked back! Oooo how exciting!! When do you start? I would love to take a course but just don't have enough time in the day. Maybe one day =)

@ Charlotte: hehe Yep self-taught... lots of experimenting and playing around. You know what they say "Practice makes perfect!"

  7. Hi Vanessa,
I found pictures of your cakes and cupcakes and flickr and I've been a big fan since then. I too just started doing cakes but I have a full time job and I do this mostly for friends and family and a few referrals. Anyway, I'm really impressed on how you make the edges on your cake so crisp. I saw in one of your comments in flickr that you might do a tutorial on that. I would appreciate if you can share with us your tips and tricks since that is one thing that I've had struggled with. Anyway, looking forward to more of your tutorials and thank you so much in advance.

    Best Regards,
